Senior Research Associate
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the department head, the Senior Research Associate, works independently and in collaboration with other team members to:
- Grow, maintain and preserve mammalian cell lines.
- Plan and execute cell biology experiments
- Analyse samples by flow cytometry
- High-throughput single B-cell and antibody-display screening campaigns, both for binding and cell-based functional outputs
- Lenti-virus production and transduction
- Regular lab maintenance
- Maintain well-organized and up-to-date records of all research activities, including writing detailed protocols, technical reports, and developing appropriate documentation for processes.
- Clearly communicate results in written reports and oral presentations
- Actively foster collaborative working relationships within and across teams
- Participate in team meetings to assist in the coordination of project and departmental activities
- Follow all safe laboratory practices and company policies
Essential qualifications
- Minimum an M.Sc. in a life science (preferably in immunology or cell biology).
- Previous experience in industry environment will be an asset.
- Experience with the design and execution of cell biology techniques such as:
- Cell culture, Transfection, Flow cytometry, cell-based imaging techniques
- Strong independent technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and experimental protocols
- Strong time management skills, including accurate work planning and execution to meet agreed upon timelines
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document all work clearly and completely
- Strong computer skills to use a variety of software packages, including but not limited to, FlowJo, Prism/GraphPad, and other software packages required for instrument operation and data analysis.
Assets
- Experience with animal handing and mice dosing via oral, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal routes is an asset
